Most homes we walk into are still lit the way they were wired twenty years ago: one switch, one glary globe in the middle of the ceiling, and a hallway you cross in the dark. Good lighting is not about more fittings. It is about the right light, in the right spot, on the right switch.
We plan lighting room by room: warm white around 2700K to 3000K where you relax, brighter and cooler light where you cook, work and shave, and layers you can dim down when the day winds up.

Halogen to LED
The LED swap: about 85 percent less power per downlight
If your home still runs halogen downlights, this is the cheapest win in the whole house. A 50 watt halogen replaced with a quality 7 watt LED does the same job on about 85 percent less power.
Real running cost numbers
Ten 50 watt halogens running four hours a night burn around 730 kWh a year. The same ten LEDs use roughly 100 kWh. At a typical 30 cents per kWh, that is close to $190 a year back, every year, from one visit.
Safer in the ceiling
Halogens run hot and their old transformers are a common failure point we find in roof spaces. We fit LED downlights with the right IC rating, so ceiling insulation can sit where it should and the fitting runs cool.
Stop replacing globes
Quality LED downlights are rated for tens of thousands of hours, so you are not up a ladder every few months. We only install fittings we are happy to stand behind, with the compliance paperwork to match.
