Builders put panels on because the energy rating needed them. They almost never put a battery in, because it was not required and it was not in the contract. So the estate is full of homes generating well and storing nothing. Adding the battery afterwards is the cheapest step and the one that actually changes the bill.

Our workshop is in Bentleigh, about 50 to 60 minutes south east, on the far side of the area we cover. We are not going to pretend otherwise. What it means in practice is that a battery install here is booked in advance rather than squeezed in the same day, which is how a full day job should be run anyway. We arrive with everything on the van, do the install and the commissioning in one visit, and the price is agreed before we leave Bentleigh.
